Play Will Set You Free is a Smash Bros tournament ending with a visual album screening built around Ryan The Son's album Recovering Athlete, blending gaming, music, and mindful competition.

The experience.

Single Elimination Smash Bros Tournament. Best of 1 with option for free play outside of the tournament brackets.
Loser bonus round. Loser of each bracket plays a bonus round against Ryan The Son for a chance to win free merch. The only catch: you have to play by match rules inspired by time and vibe of a track from his album Recovering Athlete.
Visual Album Screening. Based on tournament size, a visual album screening will happen at the beginning or end of the event, prefaced with a brief message from Ryan about his mental health journey behind the album production.
Curated playlist. Ryan will curate a playlist for the night of the event.

Song-based brackets give each tournament phase its own emotional identity and give losers a chance to win something cool. It keeps the album present throughout without forcing a "performance" and provides a light-hearted vibe around the tournament. Creates natural pacing and consistency within each round.
